Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center

“Renaissance is deeply grateful for Sand Hill Foundation’s investment in our critical small business training programs and support services that help women and men build better futures for themselves, their families, and their communities”
— Sharon Miller, Chief Executive Officer

Small businesses are a critical component of a healthy and thriving community. Locally owned businesses contribute to the economic growth of their neighborhoods while also preserving local identity. Since 1995, Sand Hill Foundation has funded Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center to provide business planning, capital resources, and ongoing assistance that empowers underserved entrepreneurs to start and grow successful businesses on the Peninsula.

A recent grant from Sand Hill Foundation supported Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center in providing entrepreneurship training to 500 lower-income Spanish and English speaking individuals. These trainings provide the knowledge, resources, and confidence new entrepreneurs need to launch their own business, increase their income, and contribute to the economic vitality of their neighborhood.

In total, the services Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center provides have succeeded in creating 10,000 businesses and providing employment for an additional 12,000 residents. Sand Hill Foundation and Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center’s ongoing investment in locally owned businesses continues to increase the economic stability of local communities and combat economic inequality in Silicon Valley.
