Susan Ford Dorsey
Dedicated to preserving our natural environment and improving the lives of families in San Mateo and northern Santa Clara counties, Susan Ford Dorsey is a leader in philanthropic activities and community service. Susan is President of Sand Hill Foundation, a family foundation established by her late husband Tom Ford in 1995. The Foundation invests in leaders and organizations that demonstrate clarity of purpose and a deep desire for lasting transformation.
Prior to Sand Hill Foundation, Susan was the founder and president of Health Innovations, a health care consulting firm specializing in business development, strategic planning , and marketing. Currently, Susan serves on the boards of several nonprofit organizations including Menlo School where she is currently Chair, Palo Alto Medical Foundation and Monterey Bay Aquarium. She sits on the National Council for Environmental Defense Fund and the Advisory Board for Stanford University’s Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society, and Humanities and Sciences Council. Her past board service has included Common Sense Media, Peninsula Open Space Trust and Silicon Valley Community Foundation.
Susan completed her undergraduate degree in cellular biology at the University of California, San Diego and earned her Master’s in Public Health from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She is married to Michael Dorsey and has one son, Tommy Ford, and is stepmother to Jonny and Alison Dorsey.
